Improved Load Distribution – Accommodating for Tight Fits
FiberWALES are fiber reinforced structural sections with a higher stiffness than plastic lumber. This distributes impact loads to more pilings in a fender system. The product was developed for fender geometries that require the wales to be formed to a tight radius. This can be important in narrower channels or areas where many structures are in close proximity.
FiberWALE can be designed with different dimensions and thicknesses to cost-effectively meet performance requirements. The cross-section hat shape allows for easy attachment to pilings. The polyethylene plate provides low friction and high abrasion resistance during impacts. Bolted splices are used to join wale sections.
